I think when people talk about "THE" Ark show, they're talking about 4/21, but all three are great. 4/23 takes it for me. St. Stephen> It's a Sin> Stephen is wonderful.

I love the opening bit too, where the band kind of pushes the stage annoncer in front of the mic -- "Speech! Speech!" so he can announce that he now thinks that the Dead are "the best fucking rock and roll band in the whole world!" After which they open with ... a rock and roll song? Rubbish! How about a slow, sad country ballad about a dead friend? Classic.

isnt the stage announcer the same guy who gives them the lackluster 'some guys from the west coast' intro in the 21st? i guess the dead showed him the light.

But can you really blame him? Look at that bunch of scrubs. They look like some ironic, hipster band from 1996.

Yeah, I'm sure it is. Must have felt a bit chastened after the first two shows.
